I’m often asked where I get my inspiration from. To answer this is easy…Silence. Sometimes the greatest inspiration is silence and the sound of your thoughts. I believe that some artist thrive in this environment, a heaven a place where it’s only you. Just like the marathon runner who will tell you that when they run, they go into another place of thought and sound. So does the artist…

The artist world is a place like a new planet full of different and far reaching theories and thoughts unlike the basic world which most live in. Unless you’re a true artist, this world is light years away thus explaining why many never see what the artist sees or feels but then again the Art of Abstraction is without reason and questioning it brings no answer.

My thoughts are strange and different. In my art I try to share those thoughts.  I love to touch and feel, I love people and crowds, but in my world of painting, there is only me and a loneliness which is enjoyed. I'm kept company by my thoughts, my canvas and the silence. But I yearn after wards for touch, sound, and others...it’s a bit odd I guess.

When I am on the ocean in a kayak and sitting there at sea…you hear nothing really…the splashing of the water up against the kayak, a bird flies by, and sea otters diving and swimming. It’s silent, the view is amazing..The ocean is rolling under you and you are alone. It inspires thinking and looking closer at color and its existence. Don’t be afraid to let your mind think and turn..great ideas can come from nowhere else but you.
